This book is so cute.
Seriously.
Mamasaurus, in the same vein as Jon Klassen’s Hat books, features a little Babysaurus on a journey to find someone important to him. He asks many different kinds of animals but none of them seem to have seen Mamasaurus. Babysaurus wanders around desolately until his mother finds him and all ends well.
Oops, spoiler alert but this is a picturebook. I haven’t yet seen a tragic picturebook so you ought to have known this was coming.
Bright colours and strange animals make the reading experience a fun one. The writing is fun and pops off the page. I dare say this one will be a favourite among the younger kids. And did I mention that it’s cute? Because it is. Very cute. It gets three thumbs up from me (two are mine and is my niece’s.)
So cute!!! I need this in my life – picture books and dinosaurs are two of my favourite things. :)
It looks like a new, dino version of “Are You My Mother?”, a picturebook from the 50s or 60s in which a baby bird falls out of the nest and goes in search of its mother.
Looks like a GOOD read. Can’t wait!
