TTT: Recommended Reading For X Character

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme by The Broke And The Bookish. Pick a character, give ’em a reading list. What are your picks? Tell us in the comments! :)

Nafiza

My choice for character X is Voldemort! Because of reasons. Anyway, I recommend for him (hur):

  1. The Art of War by Sun Tzu
I figure he’ll have need of it considering his warmongering ways.
  2. The Proper Care of Snakes by Armin Geus
    For obvious reasons.
  3. How to Be a Super Villain – Rachel Yu
    Sometimes villains need pointers.
  4. The Nose by Nikolai Gogol
    You know…
  5. Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche
Just in case he needs things to think about this seems like it’d help.

OMG, Nafiza made me spit my tea out with The Nose. *wipes screen* Thanks for that, Nafiza. Hm. I think, for mine, I will choose our beloved boy wizard. Prepare yourselves for a few Harry Potter headcanons …

  1. Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona: I think Harry, who spent a substantial part of his childhood in a muggle environment with muggle media, would love to escape into the world of superhero comics, where things are complicated– but not in the way it is for him. Plus, Kamala is so funny and so full of heart. Who can resist her charms?! (Pretty sure the release of each new volume would have Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione meeting at a Waterstones to get the latest copy “for the kids” but they end up buying the copies and reading it together over many coffees. Oh, look, I just wrote a fanfic. Oops.)
  2. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera: I think Harry would get a kick from “Scorpius Hawthorne and the Convict of Abbadon”. (Wink if you know what I’m talking about, people.)
  3. Beauty Queens by Libba Bray: Something I think Hermione would push to Ginny and then Ginny pushes to Harry. When Harry asks Hermione where she gets her fabulous book recs, she glances over to a suspiciously red Ron.
  4. The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton: Harry has kids. This is probably a household favourite. (Don’t squint so hard at the publishing dates and Harry’s timeline, okay? This is a Top Ten Tuesday. Be cool.)
  5. The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness: I haven’t even read this one yet (SOON!) but Harry reading a satire on chosen ones is too weird a combination to ignore.
