Good gracious the books in the TBR pile are piling up. Pregnancy and all that makes it hard to focus and to stay awake while reading…

Still! I continue!

1. Interworld by Neil Gaiman and Michael Reaves – I discovered this on the downloadable audio-books list on my library website, and I think that I shall read it. It sounds right up my alley and it, like many of Gaiman’s works, promises to defy convention by not singling out one single hero but by pointing out that actually, we  are all heros in our own small ways.
2. Swim the Fly by Don Calame – My collegues at Kaleidoscope books can’t stop talking about this one so it’s near the top of the to read pile!
3. The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and other Flavia de Luce books. Actually, I’m about halfway through the first one and enjoying it immensely! It was originally intended for adults, but since it features young Flavia as the detective it makes for a great crossover read. So far I’m feeling like they are almost a more dense version of the Theodosia books.
4. I FINALLY read Sabriel by Garth Nix and now that has moved up the rest of the Abhorsen series to the TBR pile.
5. The Greenglass House also sits on my shelf, it’s gotten decent reviews and a co-worker really liked it. :)
6. And one more, just for fun, The Testing is my dystopia that hovers near the top of the TBR list. I’ve heard it’s better than Hunger Games so…well, we’ll just have to see, won’t we?

I usually try not to think about my ever-growing TBR pile but I’ll make an exception for this post. *cracks knuckles* Let’s do this.

1. Throne of Crescent Moon by Saladin Ahmed
   Yash and I bought this together and we’re supposed to review this together. I’m not sure if that’s going to happen but I hope by the time this post goes up, I’ve read a lot more than I have right now.
2. Elena Vanishing by Clare and Elena Dunkle
   Janet and I received this for review and we’re reading this together. If we survive the experience, you will see a review on it.
3. Seriously Wicked by Tina Connolly
   I got this for review from Raincoast Books. It looks seriously cute and since I like Connolly’s previous trilogy, I am hoping I will enjoy this one.
4. The League of Beastly Dreadfuls by Holly Grant
   I have no idea what this book is about except that the cover is brilliant and I’m looking forward to reading it.
5. The Sign of the Cat by Lynne Jonell
   Another one I’m really looking forward to. Once again, I vaguely know what the book is about but since this, too, is a review book, you shall see a review. Sooner or later.

1. Elena Vanishing by Clare and Elena Dunkle. Nafiza said it all.
2. The Wave in the Mind: Talks and Essays on the Writer, the Reader, and the Imagination by Ursula K. Le Guin.
3. Steering the Craft: Exercises and Discussions on Story Writing for the Lone Mariner and the Mutinous Crew by Ursula K. Le Guin. I am pretty sure that it was Brain Pickings that led me to these books by Le Guin, although I can’t find the exact article; for that, many thanks. (Maybe I should reread A Wizard of Earthsea, eh?)
4. Behind You by Jacqueline Woodson. I bought this after I heard her read from it, and it’s beautiful. Still TBR because I haven’t finished it; haven’t been home and unoccupied long enough to read more.
5. On the Shoulders of a Giant: An Inuit Folktale retold by Neil Christopher, illustrated by Jim Nelson.
6. Miss Marvel. I have a hold on all three volumes at the library, and the second has just come in. It will be hard resisting the impulse to read the second before the first arrives.

1. Scarlett Undercover by Jennifer Latham: The summary reminds me of a mix of Veronica Mars and The Lynburn Legacy. <3
2. Slasher Girls and Monster Boys by April Genevieve Tucholke: A horror anthology. Features Nova Ren Suma, Neil Gaiman, Marie Lu, Cat Winters and a lot of other awesome people I’ve yet to read!
3. Jackaby by William Ritter: Nafiza convinced me.
4. Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy: We did the Cover Wars for this one and I think we unanimously agreed on how awesome it was. I’m seeing a lot of good reviews come up for it too. I’m excited to pick this one up!
5. White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi: I really loved Boy, Snow, Bird and this one sounds like a gothic novel! I need this book in my life!
